She was a Day Tripper

Don’t you just love a long holiday weekend? In Glasgow this is our September weekend, which for me means Friday and Monday off work. If I could work Tuesday to Thursday every week I’d be a happy girl. So what to do with an extra day off work? Day trip of course and first thought is always the beach.

I packed Seb up in the car, picked up my sister and headed west to a Heads of Ayr. This little beach is slightly further down the coast from the main Ayr beach. There’s no shops, no ice cream, no sunshine but also no people. We had the beach entirely to ourselves, bliss.

There’s something lovely about visiting a Scottish beach out of season. You could say it’s cold and windy, I’d say refreshing. As long as you dress appropriately, ChouChou hood to the rescue, the wander along a quiet beach is quite charming. Especially if you’ve got a furry friend to play with.

Day tripper? Yes that’s me.
