Keep On Running

Right now I’m likely running around a cold, wet, windy Edinburgh, well depending on how long your Sunday lie in is I might be finished. Yes today is the day, the Edinburgh Marathon Relay. I’m first up with the longest keg at 8.3 miles and I’ll be honest my training has not been up to much.

I was running fairly regularly when I signed up to the relay in February, I furthers this would be a good start to my aim of running a marathon. Then life got in the way, with Hen Weekends, my girl arriving and weddings, I’ve only clocked up 4 runs in April and May. I managed the distance on Wednesday so I’m not too worried, I am competitive though and wanted a good time. Time will tell.

We’re running for The Children’s Hospice Assocation Scotland, CHAS. CHAS is a great charity and the only one in Scotland which provides Hospice services for children with life shortening conditions. They have a hospice in Balloch close to where we all work which is why we choose the charity. There’s still time to sponsor us if you can spare anything, just text DFAC99 £5 (or the amount you’d like to donate) to 70070.
