Josef Salvat is Australian born singer/songwriter. He burst onto the blogosphere last year and kept popping up on my screen but I never got round to putting a post together. He’s now working on his debut album so I thought it was about time a shared.

I’ve found out very little about this man. I guess he creates pop music but pop music for adults not your average chart hits. Paul Lester for the Guardian summed him up as ‘could be this year’s Gotye’ early in 2013 and I can see where this comparison comes from. Clearly he hasn’t garnered the same success; yet.

His tracks are filled with smooth vocals and clever lyrics, nestled over quirky musical arrangements. Of his three releases this is his most recent and my favorite. I love the soft verses rising to the falsetto chorus.
