I’ve Never Seen a Diamond in the Flesh

Wed-nails-day has been missing for a few weeks. I’m shamed to admit this is because my nails haven’t really been painted, another consequence of being so busy.

I spotted a little caviar nail kit in Primark the other week, it was bargain so I thought I’s give it a go. You may have seem the instagram of the kit, I didn’t fancy the silver polish it came with so went for this deep purple instead.20131127-131548.jpgIt’s very easy, you simply paint your nails and pour over the little beads right away while its wet. I forgot how long it takes nail polish to dry but managed not to smudge my purple base coat. photo 1 Instead of a statement nail I wanted a little detail on each. I painted a triangle of top coat at the top and poured the caviar over. I think it looks really cute but I’m intrigued as to how long these will last. When I add details with shellac they last days, not sure that will a the case here.

photo 2You need to do one nail at a time and make sure you use the tray to catch the ones that don’t stick. You can then pour them back into the bottle using the little funnel. Easy as pie.
photo 3Primark have a few different colour combinations on offer i may pick up a couple more.

  1. Mine didn’t last long at all, but I found when they started falling in the pattern left in the nail varnish still look pretty cool.

  2. I really like the look of these on other people, but never tried them myself because I didn’t think they’d last long at all & I knew I’d be sooo tempted to pick them off! May have to pop to Primark & give them a try, nothing to loose at the kind of prices! 🙂

  3. Really love the triangle of detail at the top – I tried the accent caviar nail once and did a really thick coat of clear on top which kind of set it (for about a day and a half before I couldn’t resist picking them all off…)
