Continuing with my girl love this week with Deap Vally, two gorgeous girl rockers from San Fernando Valley. I just love that these two met at crochet class and now make such bad ass rock tunes.
These are strong woman who say what they want. The songs remind me of all those angry female vocalists from the 90’s, but there is style and humour to their songs. Their debut album Sistrionix is filled with full on rock tracks. I love ‘walk of shame’ which although about exactly what the title says has a sense if pride to it and ‘make my own money’ very much a I don’t need a man i can look after myself.
This song i just love. The hard drums and guitar riff really pull you in and make you want to jump around. The chorus is simple but brilliant, real hip shaking, singing loud rock tune. What do you think?
I love Deap Vally! It always makes me smile when I read they met at crochet class, it makes me feel a little more bad ass haha!
I’m loving this series btw, you have a great music taste 🙂
