On Thursday night I was lucky enough to attend the Style at Merchant Square fashion event. I went along with my friend Laura. The event was held to raise money for the Prince and Princess if Wales Hospice. As I was a VIP, I know fancy, I was treated to a champagne reception with some rather tasty canapés.
We were then all summoned downstairs for the main event. Front row seats gave a perfect view of the show. The models were styled by various concessions from House of Fraser, Biba and McQueen were two if them.
I think you may have guessed that I have a bit of an obsession with the monochrome trend this season. There were quite a few looks that caught my eye.
Another trend I’m coveting this season is neon. This was also featured and I’m seriously in love with this blue dress. I think it’s my favourite piece from the show so I had to share it even though my photos are a bit rubbish.
The show moved on to metallics. The glitzy sparkly numbers looked great on the catwalk and my camera doesn’t do them justice. The sparkly blazer is another item I’m gonna have to check out. Perfect for nights out.
Lastly, how amazing is the 20’s style dress? I’ve been desperate for one since I started watching boardwalk empire and this is beautiful.
The show was brilliant and I had a great time critiquing the clothing and models with lovely Laura from life as an hourglass. I’ve watched enough America’s Next Top Model to comment on how a model walks.
Afterwards we had some amazing cocktails from metropolitan and I met Wendy from thankfifi Chat consisted mainly of clothing and dogs, we’re fashion bloggers with gorgeous dogs it was inevitable.
Just had time for a few photos at the photo board before home, it was a school night after all.
