Time for some new nails! Some of you might have seen a hint if them on my friend Becky’s craft day post. This is quite time consuming but I think the effect is worth it.
Firstly a base coat of course
Next a painted some green on the bottom of the nails, I did this freehand but you might want to use nail tape to get a clean line. I wanted the effect of one colour taking over the other so gradually reduced the amount if green.
Next the yellow which again I did freehand but you could use tape again. My green was thick so i only needed one coat but the yellow needed two.
Next for the dots. I have a dotting tool which I got in a beauty supply shop. It makes really small dots so I had to circle it round on my nail to make a bigger dot. I did the yellow dots first. Make sure you do a line of dots which crosses both colours.
Then added the green. Again make sure you do a line of dots which crosses both colours.
I use shellac so I cure each stage, if your using normal nail polish you’ll need to wait a while for it to dry. I finished it off with a top coat.
I thought it would be a bit much to do both hands with the pattern. I was also running out of time so I did my right hand only in the green. Here’s the finished look.
Wow, you did a fantastic job with the polka dots. They look so perfect!
