Colour Changers

These are game changers, I say these as I have a set of six different colours, or should that be twelve. A fab little birthday present from my bestie, she knows me well.

A French manicure is too boring for me but I wanted something simple after my Halloween nails. After a nude base coat I added these chic little black tips. The tips I painted with a little brush and added the dots with a dotter tool. When painting the tips don’t stress about getting it perfect first time, I found I was able to balance everything … Continue reading Embrasser C’est Francais
As much as I like this simple geometric design, I can’t help but feel they are just too plain. Two coats of lilac and then I added the white lines. I used my dotting tool rather than a brush as I find this works better for straight lines. I had planned to add a little stud but couldn’t work out where it would fit. I … Continue reading White Lines
When you have a 5yrs old girl staying there’s lots if Barbie pink around. Similarly when you ask your niece to pick a nail colour this Barbie pink is selected without hesitation. Unfortunately I didn’t have a similar non shellac colour for her nails but managed to avoid tears with a pretty lilac thankfully. My nails are so hideously short right now I wasn’t sure … Continue reading I’m a Barbie Girl
I’m back, not so fresh from a long girly weekend in Marbella. Last week I showed of my sunshine holiday toe nails and today I planned to show off my sunshine holiday finger nails. One problem, they didn’t quite survive the sunshine, sea, sand and shots. I had this plan for simple nude nails with summery spotty pattern, problem I don’t have a nude shellac and … Continue reading Sunshine and Spots
Obviously I had to have some Art Deco nails to go along with my roaring twenties party. Black and gold being the natural choice. Simple design but it takes considerable patience to get the lines that slim and straight believe me. Worth it though, it’s all in the details. Clutch – Collette (Australia) Polish – Blue Sky Shellac Back to Black – Beyonce … Continue reading Back to Black
Very late wed-nails-day today, these are hot of the press. So hot in fact there’s still some stray glitters on my fingertips. I had to bring some Christmas cheer to my nails this week. I have a formal dinner on Friday though so couldn’t be too cheesy. Thankfully my dress is green so these subtle little Christmas trees will work fine. I did these in … Continue reading Oh Christmas Tree
I wasn’t sure these were even worth a wed-nails-day post given how basic they are. I painted them quite simply to match my outfit for a black tie dinner last Friday. A week on and I’m really liking them. The gold line helps lengthen my nails, helpful as two were broken playing with Seb on our holidays. The little dots are just kinda fun. Oh … Continue reading Painted It Red
The leaves are now falling from the trees and I was inspired to bring a little autumn to my nails. It helped that my new polishes arrived including this deep blue, copper and Matt top coat. This design was a little a bit footery, especially the dark veins on the leaves. It’s definitely doable though if you have a small brush and some time. I’m … Continue reading All the Leaves are Brown
Quick little wed-nails-day today. I was gonna try some marble effect, marble like the stone not water marble. I didn’t fancy spending over an hour inside painting my nails when it was so gorgeous outside though. So I went for a simple little scrabble design on a white background. My god was it hard to paint the tiny little numbers on my right hand, hence … Continue reading More than Words
