Barcelona – Hotel Miramar

With so many options on where to stay in Barcelona I thought I’d share a little post on my hotel. Hotel Miramar is a gorgeous 1920’s building restored and extended into a 5* hotel, nestled in the beautiful Montjuic hill.

The hotel effortlessly mixes the traditional building and grounds with modern interior. The spa and outdoor pool are divine and something you don’t get in the small hotels in the centre of town. Little details like champagne on arrival, L’Occitane toiletries and sweeties on the bar make it impossible not fall in love.

The hotel is a 10/15 minute walk, downhill on the way in and uphill on the way home, from town. But it’s worth it for the breathtaking view of the city and the beautiful leafy surroundings of Montjuic, home of the Olympic Park. We got taxi’s home at night for a few euros and you can always hop on the amazing cable car from the port during the day which brings you right to the hotel.

The staff were some of the nicest I have experienced. They helped with everything from hiring bikes to assisting with painkillers when my hangover was too much to stand.

On a dull Sunday afternoon in Glasgow, I wish I was back there.
