On Thursday I went along with Roz and Bex to the relaunch if Brel. Brel is a Belgian bar, it’s namesake being Jacques Brel singer/songwriter. A bar named after a musician? Sounds like my kind place.
The bar is nestled in Ashton Lane in Glasgow’s west end. It’s had the major refurb it needed and is now filled with personality and adorned with fairy lights. We sat in the new conservatory area which looked out onto the gorgeous beer garden. This area will be lovely for summer and the heaters keeps it cosy through the colder evenings, no one wants to shiver while drinking their beer.
We did not pick our seats wisely however; tucked in the corner we kept missing all the yummy food platters. I did try some of the baked cheese and the ribs were some of the best I’ve had, plenty of meat on them bones.
The place has a great atmosphere, the kinda place you can sit and while away a few hours with friends. Especially in the conservatory were you can watch the fairy light filled trees dance along to the funky music.
