When I Get Older, Losing My Hair

Remember when you were 19 and didn’t get hangovers, could stay up all night and all day and lose half a stone at the drop if a hat? I remember older friends at uni telling me how things change as you get older. I always palmed them off believing I was lucky.

Partying till Dawn

Well turns out no, I’m not lucky, I was just young. The hangovers I suffer now are horrific with headaches lasting two days sometimes. Whereas, I used to work two jobs and survive on 3 hours sleep a night at uni, now I’m knackered by the time it gets to Friday. I’m still determined that has something to do with a fairly stressful and demanding job though, not just my age.

Seriously hungover on first day of holiday last year

The one that’s annoying me most right now though is my weight. I’m not fat, I know that, but I would like to be a little leaner. I find that now, it’s really bloody hard to lose a few pounds when a few years ago it was a price of cake.

I’d be happy to look like this again

I’ve decided to try the Fast Diet or 5:2. The whole idea is you eat regularly for 5 days and fast, restrict to 500 calories, the other two. Me and the man tend to have big dinners together each night. Only having to miss them twice a week is far more appealing than making different meals each night.

It’s not as hard as you might think. I started yesterday and had porridge for dinner, a fruit bowl for lunch and soup for dinner. That was only 520 calories. Your supposed to exercise 3 times a week too for 30mins. I tend to do this anyway with my little furry friend.

I’m going to try and keep it up for six weeks. I’ve even taken before photos, those I will only share if the results are impressive though!

I love hearing from you, let me know what you think
