Having spent as much time in the sun as the little man has allowed the last few weeks I’ve managed to get a bit of a tan. Being from Scotland what I class as a tan is likely very different from the rest of the world but basically I’m no longer a similar shade to Casper the ghost.
A few days of sunshine is all it takes to put a spring in my step and have me reaching for all the bright colours I can find. After spending a sunny afternoon in the park with my boys, I managed to tire them both out enough to steal a few minutes to paint my nails. This is now a luxury it seems.
We’re into October and autumn is definitely upon us. The days are getting shorter, and significantly colder, it’s time to pull out the jumpers and hats and darker autumnal colours.
I had a free morning on Friday to head out to St Andrews for a work seminar. I was torn, go for a run or paint my nails? Guess which won.

Thank God summer has arrived. I’ve been on a bit of a spending ban recently and was getting so fed up with my warmer clothes. I seem to hang on to more summer clothing, God knows why given the average temperature in Glasgow, so I should have plenty to choose from for the next couple weeks.

My nails were neglected over new year and ended up broken, short and weak. I thought a simple design might make them look a little longer. The middle fingers were particularly short, hence the central vertical lines. Colour and negative space are always favourites of mine so I adapted these into a varied geometric design. Indeed they are, these little bad boys lasted my whole holiday and are still going strong. I picked up these pastel nail polishes specifically for my holiday, man did they look good in the sunshine.
