I’m a fashion blogger apparently but everything I am wearing here is old and no longer available. And that is something that happens quite regularly here. I read a lot of fashion blogs, a lot. Most are full of brand new pieces, links to buy them and quite often from high end or designer stores. As much as I’d love it, I realise I will never have that kinda of blog.
I don’t have the budget for designer clothes, heck I don’t have the budget for a new outfit every week. The blogging world is becoming pretty saturated, everyone seems to be at it these days. But amongst those glossy blogs that look like pages out of Vogue, I think there’s definitely room for the little guys. Those like me who pull things out of the back of the wardrobe rather than tear open the packaging of a new delivery.
Let’s pretend it says more about our personal style having to mix things up than buying the hottest items on ASOS. So here I am, shirt, jumper and jeans you’ve seen a few times. The scarf maybe new on here but not to me, I picked this up in H&M in October amazing on sale for £4. I’ve said before I’m not a pink girl, but when you see a scarf like this it just screams buy me. Who can resist a neon pink oversized scarf anyway?
Jumper – ASOS
Shirt – Primark
Jeans – Gap
Scarf – H&M
Brogues – Clarks*
Bag – Primark
Girl!!! It’s okay!!!!! Like yourself, I thought I was the most broken and poor blogger in the world! haha Whatever you said here in this content is very inspiring and I am so impressed! A lot of people want to know about this. Like I can’t afford a channel bag… I know if i have one, I get a lot of likes on Insta and social media. But I don’t wanna force myself just for that. That’s not truly right. I am totally up for what you said here >>> I don’t have the budget for designer clothes, heck I don’t have the budget for a new outfit every week.
Of course we need to catch up on the trends, but that doesn’t mean that we have to buy the new clothes all the time, right? If we have something really like, it’s so important to wear it and restyle it and take care of it until it’s ripped or something!!! I am so glad I came to read your blog post! Thanks for speaking that out, love!!!!! Let’s continue to be who we are, not being discouraged or so influenced by those social media facts!!!!!

I’ve been trying to remix a lot of the things that I own instead of constantly buying new stuff to wear, too! I feel like that’s more relatable to readers as well because that’s how most people dress. But as a blogger it’s definitely hard to squelch the desire to “keep up” with all the latest stuff 😦

I’m not a pink girl either, but I love the scarf! It really makes the whole thing “pop.” Look forward to reading more. 😊
