January is finally over; probably the longest and most depressing month of the year, you all agree right? I spent most the month trying to get back into the swing of work, exercise and general daily life again. I think I’ve just about got it, damn those festive holidays.

With winter well and truly upon us it was time for some darker nails to match the darker nights and freezing temperatures. It’s been a while since I went for a ombre effect and I thought it would be perfect style for this new ‘chameleon’ nail colour.

I wasn’t sure these were even worth a wed-nails-day post given how basic they are. I painted them quite simply to match my outfit for a black tie dinner last Friday. A week on and I’m really liking them. The gold line helps lengthen my nails, helpful as two were broken playing with Seb on our holidays. The little dots are just kinda fun. Oh … Continue reading Painted It Red
You know how we all thought it was spring? It’s still bloody freezing in Glasgow, can someone tell Mother Nature please. Anyway I thought I’d bring some spring to my nails with this little cherry blossom pattern. When I was a kid there was some at the bottom of my street. I always loved how pretty the cherry blossoms were and how they covered the … Continue reading The Leaves are Shining in the Sun
I meant to post this yesterday in advance of New Year’s Eve, I was a little caught up in airports though and forgot. Oh well today will have to do, it is wed-nails-day after all. At least I think it is, I’ve not quite got my head around the time difference yet! New Years called for sparkles but I wasn’t sure what I would be … Continue reading Black and Gold
I’m definitely getting into the Christmas spirit now. I bought my tree at the weekend, though we can’t find the decorations so it’s naked in the living room. Now I’ve gone all festive on my nails with this little Christmas lights design. I can’t claim credit for designing this one myself, I came across it on Pinterest. The tutorial I saw used black thread which … Continue reading Those Christmas Lights
My toes weren’t left out of the holiday nail art. I went for a simple bright sunset design. I didn’t take photos of each stage unfortunately. I started with a colour blend with yellow, orange and pink as I did here. I then painted on the palm trees with a detail brush. Simples. Waterloo Sunset – The Kinks Continue reading Waterloo Sunset, I Am in Paradise
I’m off on my holidays on Friday so I had to get some bright colours on my nails. I decided on leopard print as I’ve not done it for ages. I think it can be a bit much on all your nails so went for this rising effect. It takes some time but it’s not hard. Simply paint your nails the main colour. Add little … Continue reading Wild Thing, I think I Love You
I’m sorry I’ve not had a proper wed-nails-day for weeks. I left my lamp at Roz’s after our little girls night and only picked it up during the week. I’ve been seeing a lot if Aztec prints around, which I love btw, so thought I’d give it a go on my nails. I decided to not to paint the pattern on every nail. For two … Continue reading Don’t Stop til You Get Enough
New nails! I figured these were fitting last week when it was technically spring and I was wishing it was. Very cute and very simple. I know I always say that but all you need for these are a small brush and steady hand. Granted a steady hand isn’t always easy to come by. I started with two coats of light grey. This shade is … Continue reading Wishing and Hoping
