In Flanders Field the Poppies Blow

A very late wed-nails-day.

It’s November and so poppies are everywhere to commemorate Remembrance Day which falls on the 11th November. There’s a lot of discussion over the wearing of poppies, particularly given every single person on TV seems to be forced to wear one these days.

For my part, no I don’t agree with many of the wars our government has lead us into and yes there have been acts by a few in the military which are deplorable. The poppy though is not a political symbol or sign of support for war or even the military as a whole. For me it is a mark of respect for those that have given their lives and that is why I wear one.

I lose my little paper one every year so this year i have one on my lapel and a whole load on my nails.
